Hello! My name is Dorothy L. Rush, President of Dorothy Rush Realty, Inc. and managing broker. I have been in the real estate business in Arkansas City, Kansas for 44 years, 28 of those in my own agency at 206 North Summit.
I was born and raised in Arkansas City, as was my husband of 58 years, Bedford "Bud" Rush. We have three sons, RIchard, who is an associate broker for me; Robert, Rush Consulting Co.; David, contractor who also has his real estate brokers license. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. My husband has worked for Ford Motor Company dealers in Arkansas City for 58 years. As you can see we have a vested interest in our community and its people.
I belong to the Redeemer Lutheran Church, and active in the community, I served six years on the Board of Directors and development committee chairman for Habitat for Humanity, Arkansas City, work as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and various other organizations through out those years. I've had the pleasure of the city designating two Dorothy Rush days in the past ten years, which was quite an honor. I am a member of NAR, KAR, WAR, Arkansas City Board of Realtors, serving two terms as president and Soroptimist of Arkansas City serving one year as president. My hobbies are reading, playing cards and attending sports and other activities that my grandchildren participate in and just being with my family and friends.

Hello, My name is Richard Rush, or Rick to my friends and business associates. I was born and raised in Arkansas City and graduated from Arkansas City High School and attended Cowley County Community College. I have been married for 32 years to my wife, Valerie, and we have one daughter, Elizabeth (Betsy), who has recently graduated from Cowley County Community College and currently attends Kansas University. We are all active members of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In the mid 70's and early 80's I worked for the AT&SF railroad as a brakeman/conductor. Upon a leave of absence I returned to Arkansas City and began real estate and finished my associates degree in Business Administration at Cowley County Community College. After 16 years with service to the railroad I retired and became a full time real estate agent and my education at Southwestern College in Winfield pursuing a BA in Human Resources. I have served the community as President of the Chamber of Commerce and also serving on many different committee's. Also serving President of the Arkansas City Soccer Association, Board of Realtors in Arkansas City and currently on the Zoning Board of Arkansas City for a third term.

That is how I feel about Arkansas City! I have been in Real Estate sales since 2000 and received my associate broker's license in 2005. It has been very rewarding! Both my husband, Glenn, and I are lifelong residents of Arkansas City and we both believe in our town. I have three grown children, Valerie McClaflin Green, Cody and Katie McClaflin and two WONDERFUL grandchildren, Dakota and Audrey Green. Although they all live away from here, they still consider Arkansas City home and enjoy coming back when they can. I have served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arkansas City Chamber of Commerce plus on many chamber committees, secretary to the Arkansas City Red Cross plus other voluntary organizations. I also attend Mount Zion Community Church.
